If you want to post comments on moneybanter, you have to follow these simple community rules. Legal mumbo-jumbo aside, here is what you need to know:
Plagiarism, libel, slander, lies, swearing of any kind, insulting groups or individuals, ethnic slurs, religious bigotry or threats of any kind will not be condoned. Debate or robust banter is encouraged and expected, but please be polite and civil to fellow forum users.
moneybanter’s moderators reserve the right to remove posts that think break any of the rules and reserve the right to ban individuals from commenting. Moderators will implement language filtering programs to block certain words and also use human editing.
Comments should be limited to the topic of the original posting. This is not the place for private conversations, no matter how innocent.
We require everyone who comments to register and provide a real e-mail address. No exceptions. And posting comments is not the same thing as complaining to moneybanter’s moderators of a problem - legally, there’s a big difference.
Content & Exception Policy: moneybanter is a free online portal that allows you to share your knowledge and opinions with fellow users. We believe that moneybanter facilitates sharing of information, exchanging of ideas and makes possible new connections between contributors and readers.
We respect our users' ownership of and responsibility for the content they contribute. We are therefore against any form of content censorship except to curb abuses that threaten our ability to provide this service. There are some boundaries on the type of content that can be hosted with moneybanter. The boundaries defined comply with legal requirements and serve to enhance the service as a whole.
Please respect the following guidelines. Failure to comply and repeated offenses may result in being banned from contributing to moneybanter:
PORNOGRAPHY, ADULT CONTENT, AND OBSCENITY: We do not allow image or video content that contains nudity, sexually graphic material, or material that is otherwise deemed explicit by moneybanter.
HATEFUL CONTENT: Users may not publish material that promotes hatred toward groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, and sexual orientation/gender identity.
VIOLENT CONTENT: Users may not publish direct threats of violence against any person or group of people. We also ask users not to publish content that contains graphic violence.
COPYRIGHT: No plagiarism is allowed and all content contributed by external sources are the copyright of the author.
PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION: We do not allow the unauthorised publishing of people's private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, identity card numbers, driver's and other licence numbers, and other personal information that is not publicly accessible.
IMPERSONATION: We do not allow impersonation of others in a manner that is intended to or does mislead or confuse others.
COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY: You may not use moneybanter to promote your financial products or services.
UNLAWFUL USE OF SERVICES: The moneybanter website may not be used for unlawful purposes or for promotion of dangerous and illegal activities, according to Singapore laws. Your account may be terminated and you may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
